Voices Project - George Fox University

Join us for George Fox University's student multicultural leadership conference on Friday, Nov. 22 and Saturday, Nov. 23.

The Voices Project Conference will highlight multicultural and multiethnic leadership in the U.S. It's open to all students and faculty, community members, and to several other universities in the area. Workshops and main sessions will be taught by leaders who include Donna and Leroy Barber, David Bailey, and Alexia Salvatierra. Join us as they share their journeys and experiences with us.

Raquel Polanco

Raquel is a Hispanic-American poet in her mid twenties who is continually inspired by God, humpback whales, and Jupiter. Her roots can be traced back to Mayan and Taino ancestors through her mother’s Honduran origins and her father’s humble beginnings in the Dominican Republic. She just finished her BA in Theology and BA in English at Multnomah University in Portland, OR. Raquel hopes to continue using her gifts and talents for the Kingdom of God as she travels back home to Anchorage, AK where the sun never sets and her journey is just beginning!

Maria-Jose Soerens

Maria-José “Coté” Soerens is a Community Entrepreneur dedicated to building structures of belonging from relationships to the built environment through neighborhood gifts.

Born in Chile, she came to the US at 25 and has since started a number of initiatives in the private and non profit sector, her favorite of them all being Resistencia Coffee, a neighborhood owned and operated coffee shop in the heart of South Park in Seattle, where she lives with her husband Tim and their two sons and dog Theo.

MLSW is an urban-contemporary blend of R&B, Hip-Hop, Inspirational and Soul wrapped around a sound Gospel message.
