Instructions
This form is designed to help you register for the Wilderness Medical Associates Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course hosted by George Fox University. The class has space for 15 participants and will be offered Saturday, March 2 through Sunday, March 3 (2024). Class sessions will take place from 8 am to 6 pm each day. Spots in the course will be offered on a first come, first serve basis.
Course Description
Wilderness First Aid is a dynamic and engaging course that offers relevant and realistic first-aid training for seasonal outdoor activities or short term wilderness endeavors and pursuits. The course is a two-day introduction to general medical concepts and basic life support skills that is helpful for anyone that spends a lot of time outside. It is targeted to the outdoor enthusiast that frequently enjoys day trips or short adventures, while still being relevant and applicable to trips of longer durations. The content also serves as a starting point for adventurers looking to take the first step into wilderness medicine and preparedness. The course is taught by professional instructors with significant patient care and backcountry experience.
Additional Course Details
No food or lodging provided for participants. Kitchenette available for lunches (fridge, microwave, sink). Restaurants and hotels nearby. The course is provided at the Hadlock Student Center on the George Fox University campus in Newberg, Oregon.
No pre-course study or exams are required for this course. The textbook and materials will be provided upon your arrival on the first day of the course.
